Job Description Job Description Job Title: Intermediate CNC Machinist Job Description Join our dedicated team in the Metal Cutting & Turning Operations as an Intermediate CNC Machinist. In this role, you will be essential in maintaining efficient production by setting up and operating various CNC equipment, including turning machines and both vertical and horizontal machining centers. This position is perfect for those enthusiastic about CNC machining and precision manufacturing. Responsibilities Read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures accurately. Organize, prioritize, and plan daily work assignments in a dynamic environment. Apply knowledge of shop math in daily tasks. Use measuring equipment such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers proficiently. Understand metal-cutting applications and machine practices. Handle piece parts ranging from 1lb. to 25 lbs. Deburr and clean parts using hand and power tools like a belt sander or drill press. Inspect parts visually and with measurement tools to ensure quality. Essential Skills 3 years of CNC machining experience with mills or lathes. 1 year of CNC setup experience. Experience with mill and/or lathe CNC machines. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools: micrometers and calipers. High School Diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications CNC vocational schooling. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience. Experience with both lathe and mill CNC machines. Why Work Here? Work Environment Our brand-new facility located in Palatine is climate controlled, ensuring a comfortable work environment. The position operates on the 1st from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm and 2nd shift from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am, with the possibility of 5-10 hours of overtime on average. Some Saturdays may be requested, but they are not mandatory and will be communicated in advance. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Palatine, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
