Description:What you'll be doing:The Product Engineering Manager is
responsible for defining and executing the technical vision,
leveraging deep product and technical expertise. You will
understand and provide input on technical decisions, working
closely with internal product teams such as Sesame, Digital, and
Payments, as well as external vendor teams. As a Product
Engineering Manager, you will articulate, vet, and prioritize
features to improve the quality and scale of your product. We are
looking for an experienced Product Engineer to own their portion of
the product roadmap of the Back Office Profitability application,
with focus on performance, stability, and scalability specific to
Cash Control Management. The Product Engineering Manager will get
the opportunity to balance your business mindset with your
technical background to drive feature development which is aligned
with business objectives and KPIs. The Back Office Profitability
solution is comprised of multiple integrated products and
development vendors, so coordination of dependencies, priorities,
and capacity planning are key to success. In this role, you will
partner with business product owners, operations, technology, and
vendor teams to drive the sustainability and longevity of the
application while influencing internal and vendor product roadmaps.
You will also support the US market with deployment activities and
serve as a key participant in cross-functional forums to ensure
alignment with global solutions and implement scalable
solutions.Key Responsibilities:
- Primary technology owner of the Cash Control Management within
the Back Office Profitability solution.
- Partner with internal and external collaborators to drive
holistic product level feature roadmap. Responsible for assisting
with driving definition of the rolling 12-month roadmap and more
detailed quarterly roadmap to align and deliver business
objectives.
- Maintain organized oversight of specific product delivery
schedules to ensure proper balance of features, timing, and
integration with other functions, and communicate in coordination
with other product teams.
- Assist in leading vendor development to deliver enhancements
needed to support enhancements and new Point of Sale, Digital and
Payments integrated features (includes backlog grooming,
requirement gathering, scope planning, testing coordination,
etc).
- Manage Back Office Profitability intake requests and conduct
cross-product enhancement sessions to ensure shared understanding
of priorities for the features are captured in stories and
prioritized into the appropriate product backlogs.
- Manage internal and partner relationships to lead to
successful, collaborative outcomes.
- Ensure cross product technical approaches are aligned with
standard methodologies, including but not limited to defined data
between integrated applications and implementation sequence and
approach.Qualifications:
- Strong technical background in Computer Science, Engineering,
or a related technology field.
- 3+ years of product/project management experience in a global,
enterprise technology function
- 3+ years of Agile Product Management experience, preferably
with customer-facing products, demonstrating agile development
teams.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve
organization goals.
- Experience supervising vendor development and implementation
activities.
- Experience with project management of software deployment
activities.
- Retail or Hospitality technology experience; in-store and/or
Back Office technology experience a plus.
- Must be passionate about technology and outspoken about the
best ways to engineer products that customers love to use.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills: proven ability to work
with and influence engineering team.
- Experience translating diverse customer and business needs into
a product feature backlog.
- Experience creating a product roadmap comprised of both
business features and technical needs to support scalability,
quality, maintainability.
- Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication
skills.
- Experience leading multiple complex initiatives,
cross-functional projects in parallel.
- Ability to maintain composure and adapt with change; strong
desire for continuous learning; embraces a growth mindset.
- Curious, task-oriented, and a self-starter with a proven track
