What You'll Do As our Supply Chain Coordinator, you will proactively manage the end-to-end flow of goods and information across our supply chain. You'll play a critical role in forecasting, procurement, inventory control, vendor management, and transportation logistics — directly supporting the company's ability to deliver on its promise to customers. Procurement & Vendor Management - Procure package salt and drop ship bulk salt to meet sales and profitability goals by territory - Maintain accurate vendor and supplier pricing in the ERP system (SAP Business One) with timely communication to all internal stakeholders - Understand service provider agreements, negotiate rates, and track orders across different transportation modalities and suppliers - Acquire and maintain current SDS/MDS, product specifications, and product sell sheets from suppliers - Ensure proper recording of “landed cost” on an ongoing basis of all materials and products allowing for accurate inventory valuation reporting. Inventory Control & Management - Monitor inventory quantity on-hand by site to ensure levels remain within established maximum and minimum ranges — never letting us run out of salt - Ensure on-time pickup of inventory by transportation carriers and confirm service execution aligns with agreements - Maintain day-to-day chain of custody compliance with NSF salt shipping terminals; maintain working knowledge of NSF certification requirements, quality controls, and annual sample collection - Acquire, catalog, and organize product samples — including samples from claims or supply chain collection — with full supporting documentation and testing results Logistics & Operations Coordination - Provide information, recommendations, and coordinate project implementation for transportation and logistics cost reduction opportunities - Maintain the Supply Chain email inbox and ensure timely, professional communication with internal and external stakeholders - Meet activity metrics and KPIs as assigned and tracked on the company dashboard/scorecard What We're Looking For - Bachelor's degree required - 2–4 years of professional experience in supply chain management, logistics coordination, or procurement - High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with ERP systems (SAP Business One a plus) - Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with sales, operations, and leadership - Self-motivated and capable of working both collaboratively and independently - High sense of urgency and the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines - Strong problem-solving skills with the composure to negotiate and interface with senior stakeholders - Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment - Accepts full accountability for managing and completing tasks - Committed to continuous improvement and motivated to grow alongside the company About Midwest Salt At Midwest Salt, we don't just deliver salt — we deliver excellence. Bonus eligible. - Location: On-site — West Chicago, IL 60185 - Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time. Summer hours: 8 am-4:30 pm.
