Job Description Job Description Tool & Die Maker - Progressive Stamping Full-Time | On-site Industry: Metal Stamping / Manufacturing Location: Confidential - Greater Milwaukee area Overview We at LHH Recruitment Solutions are proud to partner with a growing manufacturer to identify an experienced Tool & Die Maker to support progressive stamping operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting tooling before, during, and after production to ensure consistent performance, quality, and long tool life. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on Tool & Die professional who enjoys solving problems on the floor and keeping tooling running at peak performance. Key Responsibilities Build and repair die components as needed Identify required replacement parts and coordinate orders Maintain, sharpen, and adjust dies to support production requirements Troubleshoot tooling issues during active production runs Update and maintain tool repair and maintenance records Recommend tooling improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and longevity Principal Duties Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on progressive dies and fixtures Diagnose tooling-related issues and implement effective solutions Support production teams by minimizing downtime related to tooling Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to improve tooling designs and processes Ensure tooling is production-ready prior to job setup and launch Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a state-indentured Tool & Die apprenticeship OR 6 years of non-indentured Tool & Die experience Minimum 3 years of experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting progressive tooling Journeyman Card in Tool & Die required Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Experience working in a production-focused metal stamping environment Strong attention to detail and documentation Why Consider This Opportunity?
