CIVS, established in 2009, is a multidisciplinary research
center which applies cutting-edge simulation and visualization
technologies to solve real-world problems with academic, industry,
and community partners. With its missions in innovation,

high-quality work, and real-world problem solving.
The Full-time Research Engineer will work with Purdue Northwest
researchers and collaborators from other institutions and industry
to utilize visualization techniques and technologies for research
and application to real world problems.
* Develop and support interactive software to visualize
large-scale data sets generated by computational fluid dynamics
simulation of industrial processes, and develop new data
visualization techniques and algorithms for application to
industrial monitoring and prediction tools. * Research, refine, and
integrate emerging technologies into existing workflows. * Support
activities involving advanced scientific visualization, data
analytics, development of intuitive user interfaces, and
development of virtual reality, augmented reality, and related
technologies. * Mentor and guide graduate student effort on active
Experience in 3D visualization and scientific visualization
programming techniques, and experience working with game engines
such as Unity 3D.
Must demonstrate strong writing and communication skills.
Must have the ability to function in a team environment with
other researchers and to mentor graduate students in work on
applied research projects. Experience working with virtual reality,
augmented reality, or related technologies is preferred.
An earned M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Graphics, Computer Science or other related field is required.
One year of experience in 3D visualization and scientific
visualization programming techniques, and experience working with
game engines such as Unity 3D. Student and/or graduate work counts
towards year of experience.
