The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in the Oil and Gas, Chemical and Industrial construction industry working as a Precision Millwright. The successful candidate must have solid knowledge of industrial safety requirements, capital and turn around work. Being a team-player that is prepared to work with a positive attitude will mirror our current team.This position is for a person local to Manhattan IL or East Chicago IN. No relocation or per diem offered. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:The Duties of a Precision Millwright will primarily involve installing, dismantling, or moving machinery duties in a safe and quality manner. Installing pumps, motors, seals, gaskets, bearings and correctly setting tolerances and rotation of like devices.

• Installing and disassembling machinery
• Making repairs or adjustments to machinery and mechanical equipment
• Servicing, repairing, adjusting and testing moving parts and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles
• Inspecting equipment, structures or material to identify the cause of errors or other problems.
• Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment - Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
• Training and Teaching Others - Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
• Installing bearings, gaskets, packing, pumps, motors and more.
• Setting tolerance for moving equipment
• Perform alignments using hand tools, laser, levels and precision equipment.
• Completion of JSA and SLA forms.
• Fully participate in health, safety, quality and environmental processes.
• Is an ambassador for Manhattan Mechanical Services to the client, other contractors and the public. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in the construction
  • Must pass a craft-specific test (either written, performance or both, if required).
  • Must be able to read specific measurements using precision tools.
  • Should have formal education in the trade.
  • Must have knowledge of advanced math.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must have a valid Driver License if the position requires operation of company vehicles or equipment. PHYSICAL:
    • Must comply with Manhattan Mechanical Services drug and alcohol policy.
    • Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator (under fresh air) and other personal protective equipment, when required.
    • Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, stoop, stand and walk for long periods of time.
    • Must pass pre-employment physical SAFETY/ENVIRONMENTAL:
      • Must be able to pass applicable site-specific training.
      • May be required to qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
      • Must have or be willing to obtain OSHA 10 or 30.
      • CPR and 1st Aid Training and Certification preferred but not required.
      • Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English.
