We are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to work in our Hammond, IN office. This position is responsible for managing, monitoring and controlling projects to ensure that they safely achieve the Project deliverables within the approved scope, cost and schedule. Employees at the senior level of this job family are recognized as subject matter experts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing project documents for clarity & completeness - examples include contracts, requisitions, Bills of Material or Material Requests for Issue, Task Authorizations and engineering Work Requests.
  • Reviewing project and contract budgets for adequacy, completeness and other requirements and assuring that required budges exist and project budget revisions are initiated if required.
  • Focusing on ensuring that proper change management & application integration activities are included in the Project plan and monitoring the Project to ensure the planned tasks are completed.
  • Coordinating with Business Services personnel to prepare capital expenditure authorizations and associated budget revisions.
  • Providing the Management Sponsor with Project status (scope, budget & schedule progress) and identification of issues requiring management involvement for resolution.
  • Obtaining concurrence (or buy-in) from affected departments to support the proposed schedule and resource requirements. Reviewing approving of project plans.
  • Validating that project estimates are appropriately developed and that contingency is correctly applied.
  • Ensuring the tactical and strategic plan alignment of the Project.
  • Monitoring and/or reporting contractor resource levels.
  • Ensuring adequacy of Project Team membership and participation. Responsible for overseeing the activities of consultants and contractors.
  • Understanding the terms of the contract and associated documentation of services under the contract/purchase order. Upon mobilization to the site, reviews applicable topics delineated in the Service Contractor Orientation/Evaluation Checklist with the contractor.
  • Responsible for the quality assurance & control program, including identification of quality requirements, responsibility for QA program (Energy Delivery's or Contractor's program) and if required, review & approval process for contractor provided procedures.
  • Communicating project goals, priorities and decisions to the Region/Corporate Leadership Team.
  • Ensuring Project challenge meetings, peer reviews and assessments are performed.
  • Working with Portfolio Management and/or Work Management personnel to develop and update the project schedule.
  • Identifying & notifying the Project Team of additional resources or requirements necessary to meet the project scope or schedule.
  • Ensuring the documentation, scheduling and disposition of open items applicable to department's area of functional responsibility.
  • Coordinating the close-out and lessons-learned documentation applicable for the project; audit completed projects to evaluate whether identified objectives and benefits have been realized or establish a timetable of benefit realization.

    Must have Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, construction management or related field. Minimum 3 years' related experience. In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to applicants having 7 years of related experience or 5 years of electrical distribution/transmission experience. Strong project management and detailed project controls experience required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be willing to work in a team environment.
